Transpelmo 2021: the trailrunning of Val Di Zoldo opens registrations
The race to approach the Transpelmo 2021 will start on Friday 23 April, at 7 pm. On that date, in fact, registrations will open for the event which will take place on Sunday 5 September and which, after a year of stop due to the emergency sanitary, will bring back trail running enthusiasts on the paths around one of the most suggestive peaks of the Dolomites, a Unesco heritage site, namely Monte Pelmo. 18 kilometers and 1300 meters of elevation gain, with departure and arrival in Palafavèra (Belluno), a fast and at the same time technical track, which has the key passage in the passage at 2,476 meters of Forcella Val d’Arcia.
For the opening of registrations, there will be a promotion: for the first hundred registered, in fact, the membership fee will be 29 euros. Once the first hundred bibs have been sold out, registration until 30 June will cost 35 euros and then go up to 42 from 1 July to 15 August. Those who register by August 15th will be entitled to a personalized bib. Finally, from 16 to 29 August, the “last minute” rate, set at 50 euros. The maximum number of subscribers is set at 750.
The membership fee entitles you to the traditional services provided (from refreshments to assistance) and to the technical gadget, a windproof jacket made with the most breathable Drysens fabrics.
«After a year of hiatus, we are ready to return» say Andrea Cero and Eris Costa, managers of the organizing committee. “We have worked hard and will continue to work to ensure the highest safety standards for volunteers and participants, following the evolution of the health situation step by step and calibrating the preparation of every organizational aspect based on it. We will strictly apply the anti-Covid protocols both as regards the distancing, and for the management of departures, refreshments: it will be an important effort for us – and a sacrifice for the athletes – but we are happy to do so. We are convinced that sport can restart and we will do everything to make it possible ».
Mount Pelmo
This is undoubtedly the icon that increases the spectacle of the race. Everything revolves around it. The path will take you to admire it up close at 360 °, and it will be exciting to perceive its size, its majesty, its magic. Like a huge rock stronghold it emerges lonely from the green of the meadows, and focuses the gaze from any angle. Within a few kilometers, all the variety of Dolomite terrains are enclosed, from woods, to mountain meadows, to scree and rock passages. Those who do not only aspire to performance, but decide to take an extra look, will be fascinated by the spectacular views that sweep 360 ° over the Dolomite peaks and valleys. Due to its particular shape reminiscent of a gigantic seat (seen from the south), it is defined by the locals as the “Caregon del Padreterno”, the throne of God. Legend has it that God, having completed the creation of the Dolomites, sat down exhausted right on the Pelmo to admire his work.
