World Artisan Ice Cream Oscar honours World Heritage Sites

Also expected from Japan for the challenge is Maestro Satoshi Takada, already winner in 2019 of the first edition of Gelato a Due with chef Takeshi Kamada

On the occasion of the next International Ice Cream Exhibition, from 27 to 30 November in Longarone, the International “Coppa d’Oro” Competition will be held as usual. Now in its 52nd edition, it is considered the world Oscar of artisan ice cream and every year gives master ice cream makers from all over the world the opportunity to highlight their professional qualities. This year they will have to compete on the Malaga flavour. A classic that, after disappearing from many shop windows, is making a comeback. It will certainly put the competing ice-cream makers to the test, as they will have to skilfully combine various ingredients, including milk, eggs and a little wine, namely Málaga.

Last year’s winner was Curzio Baraggi of the ‘Prossima Fermata’ ice-cream parlour in Milan. But there are many who would like to see their name inscribed in the competition’s roll of honour. This is why Maestro Satoshi Takada, already the winner in 2019 of the first edition of Gelato a Due with Chef Takeshi Kamada, who will be joining us from faraway Japan, has already applied for an entry pass to MIG.
In addition to the prestige that has been unique to the industry for more than fifty years, this edition will be tinged with the colours and flavours of three Unesco World Heritage Sites, for which we are known all over the world. To the first classified, in fact, Longarone Fiere Dolomiti has reserved a very special gift. Three nights for two people in the most beautiful places in the world that our Region can boast, from Cortina to Venice via the Prosecco Lands. In second and third place, a ‘starred dinner for two’, to celebrate the still excellent placement and to mitigate the bitterness of having missed out on victory by a whisker.
Appointment then in Longarone for the great Malaga taste challenge. Regulations and further information on how to participate can be found on the website www.mostradelgelato.com in the Competitions section. We would also like to remind you that the International Ice Cream Exhibition will only be open to the public on Sunday 27 November from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.. While from Monday 28 to Wednesday 30 November, admission is reserved to trade operators.
