Verona. End of the Year Gala at the Philharmonic Theater

A warmth that warms the heart, an event always awaited by the public for its festive and cheerful sharing atmosphere.
It is now a tradition for Fondazione Arena to celebrate the arrival of the New Year at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona. And this December 31 it will do so with the special New Year’s Eve “La Bohème” Gala. On the orchestra’s podium is the young Verona conductor Andrea Battistoni.

The opera is set in 1830s Paris. In a miserable attic, four young friends – the poet Rodolfo, the painter Marcello, the musician Schaunard and the philosopher Colline – lead a libertine and nonconformist life. Money is almost always in short supply, they often fast, but youth and carefreeness help them overcome many obstacles. The protagonists Mimì and Rodolfo will be played by soprano Aleksandra Kurzak and tenor Roberto Alagna, a couple on stage and in life, opera stars returning from great successes all over the world and in the Arena during the last Festival, reunited for the first time under the vault of the Teatro Filarmonico.

The gala evening begins at 7 p.m. and the finale is scheduled for 10 p.m.
Staging by Stefano Trespidi, sets by Guillermo Nova, costumes by Silvia Bonetti and lighting by Paolo Mazzon.
Tickets can be purchased at the Arena di Verona Central Box Office, on arena.it and on the TicketOne circuit.
