reading marathon “Veneto reads”.

It is an event that for one day brings together educators and all the actors of the book supply chain to promote reading and books by involving the main agencies (schools, libraries, bookstores, publishing houses, professional readers) addressing all citizens with the aim of contributing to making the practice of reading a widespread and recognized social habit.

Friday, September 30, 2022, “The Veneto reads” in designated places but also in private homes, in institutions’ places and in retirement homes, in jails or in a park, in commercial establishments or even online; we will read for children, adults, for readers and those who have not yet learned, for strong readers and non-readers, to affirm the social value of reading.

The main theme that will guide this year’s readings is mountain and hill literature in its broadest and most daring forms. It will then be joined by other sub-themes: the centenaries of Luigi Meneghello, Alvise Zorzi, Attilio Carminati, Paolo Barbaro and the 50th anniversary of the death of Dino Buzzati.
