Triathlon and Aquathlon in Alpago – 24 and 25 July

Triathletes from 6 years old to amateurs will compete on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July on Lake S. Croce

Record of entries in the Triathlon Sprint Gold Silca Cup in Alpago (BL). 800 triathletes are expected on Saturday 24 July and Sunday 25 July, who will be divided between the Aquathlon Kids dedicated to young people (143 on Saturday) and the sprint (656 registered for the Sunday race). A record of participation that once more rewards the event organized by Silca Ultralite Vittorio Veneto in the context of Lake Santa Croce. It will be a high level competition, given the participation of top athletes in the national, but also international field.

In the men (538 at the start), great expectations for Csongor Lehmann, 22-year-old Hungarian winner in May in Caorle of the Europe Triathlon Cup (also organized by Silca Ultralite) and on Sunday 18 July, winner of the Hungarian round of the European Cup in Tiszaujvaros. Already second in the under 23 triathlon finals in Lausanne in 2019 and in the Liévin indoor test (as well as multiple national champion both junior and elite), he boasts a bronze at the European triathlon championships, Junior category, in Kitzbühel in 2017, an event in which he gold is also placed around the neck with the Hungarian team in the mixed relay. As for the national parterre, the Italian absolute and European under 23 aquathlon champion 2021, the Trentino Michele Bortolomedi (K3), Nicolò Boy (Valdigne Triathlon), Riccardo Brighi (Cus Parma) and l home athlete, Federico Spinazzè, multiple Italian triathlon champion and in April silver under 23 tricolor in the sprint duathlon. Federico Pagotto (Cus Pro Patria Milano) is also on the list of probable protagonists.

Also for women (118 at the start) international cast with the very young Hungarians, born in 2004 and 2005 (Youth B category), Gyula Kovacs and Sara Lehmann, in a foreign land to gain experience. She will try to do an encore, after the victory in the Triathlon Sprint Gold Città di Caorle in May, Lilli Gelmini (707). Fighting for the positions that matter were Francesca Crestani (Tri Schio), Elisa Marcon (Cus Pro Patria Milano) and the Junior Giada Stegani (Leosport), winner of the Triathlon Kids in Revine Lago (TV) on 4 July. For Silca, the under 23 Erica Mazzer and the Youth B, Matilde Dal Mas, specialist in mountain bike triathlon cross, are worth keeping an eye on.

The location is also very popular with those who come far and who will stay in Alpago. In the past few years we have already seen how triathlon represents a great tourist promotion, with triathletes who, after the competitive event, return both to train and to spend some free time “.

As for traffic, on Sunday there will be the suspension of vehicular traffic on the SP423, in the stretch from the intersection with the SS51 to viale Europa in Farra d’Alpago with the following times: from 8.45 to 10.45, from 10.45 to 12.15 (end of race passage). The SS51 towards Treviso (A27) and Belluno will always be open, Farra d’Alpago will be reachable from Bastia.

The race program on Saturday 24 July provides for the departure of the Mini-puppies (male and female) at 10.00, the Cubs at 10.20, the Beginners at 10.45, the Boys at 11.15, the Youth A 11.45, the Youth B at 12.15, the last category in the race. The race distances vary according to the categories: Mini-puppies (6-7 years) will compete on 50 meters of running, 15 meters of swimming, 50 meters of running, for the Puppies (8-9) 100 m – 25 m – 100 m, for Beginners (10-11 years) 250 m, 50 m, 250 m, for Children (12-13 years) – 500 m, 200 m, 500 m, for Youth A (14-15 years) and B (16-17 years) 750 m, 400 m, 750 m.
Sunday 25 July, for the Silca Cup, at 9.00 am start for the women’s competition (one heat only), at 10.45 for the men’s one (with five heats). Each battery of 100 participants will be divided into two trances of 50, the “seconds” 50 that will dive into the water after 10 seconds from the start of the previous ones. The batteries will have a one minute spacing. For men and women the classic sprint distances: 750 meters swimming, 19.3 km (2 laps of 0.6 km) of cycling and 5 km (1 lap of 5 km) of running.
