Treviso, the heart of Marca Trevigiana

Located in the heart of the region, Treviso is a town rich in history that deserves a visit of at least a weekend. There is no better season than the other to visit: the city always has its doors open and is ready to welcome visitors. Within its walls are artistic marvels such as the Duomo with Titian’s Annunciation altarpiece, the Musei Civici in the Santa Caterina and Museo Luigi Bailo venues, and Ca’ dei Carraresi, which hosts important international exhibitions.

To fully enjoy the city, we recommend exploring it on foot, so that you can totally immerse yourself in its magic. You can alternate cultural visits with walks along the course of the river Sile and the canals, which with the slow flow of their waters give the city a very special musicality, almost lulling the visitor. The porticoed houses with their beautiful frescoed façades reflected in the Buranelli canal tell of Treviso’s close bond with its waters.

It is a must to intersperse the visit to museums and monuments with a short detour to typical restaurants to taste the many local delicacies, starting with the Radicchio Rosso di Treviso IGP. In the evening, however, you can head to Piazza dei Signori, the living room par excellence of the Trevigiani, where in the shadow of the Palazzo dei Trecento you can relax while sipping the bubbles of the famous Prosecco Superiore di Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG.
