The Giro d’Italia protagonist at Mig 2022

Presentation of the Veneto stages with two-wheel champions and the ‘Gelato rosa’ (pink ice cream)

The Giro d’Italia pedals with Mig. On Monday 28 November at 3.30 p.m. the International Exhibition of Artisan Gelato (on stage in Longarone from 27 to 30 November) will host a pink event. The protagonist will be the official Pink Jersey of the 2023 race, prepared by Manifattura Valcismon of Fonzaso (Castelli Group). And there will also be two-wheel champions.
The Veneto Region stand will therefore host the presentation of the stages that in a few months will set the Giro ablaze: Pergine Valsugana-Caorle (24 May), Oderzo-Val di Zoldo (25 May) and Longarone-Tre Cime di Lavaredo (26 May). Three fractions that will characterise the race in the Veneto region and as many as two in the Belluno area, with the Dolomite “tapponi” of 25 and 26 May destined to write other epic pages of cycling.
Analysing the race, together with the mayors of the stage towns, will be the experts. Two active cyclists who will take part in the Giro 2023 are Filippo Zana (Italian road champion 2022) and Andrea Vendrame (who now boasts several participations in major stage races). But also Paolo Slongo (former coach of Vincenzo Nibali and sporting director of the Trek Segafredo team), the “dauphin of Bibione” Franco Pellizzotti (great climber, now sporting director of the Bahrain team), and Paolo Artuso (coach of the Bora team) will be present to narrate the stages. There could also be the surprise Pippo Pozzato, a former cyclist beloved by fans.
For sure, there will be ‘Pink Ice Cream’, dedicated to the race and with an eye on the athletes. A high-protein and mouth-watering taste, with a base of ricotta cheese, strawberry juice and pulp, and a touch of redcurrant, strictly from the Belluno mountains. A new recipe conceived by Mig’s master ice-cream makers for the occasion.
‘The Giro 2023 will most probably be decided in the two Belluno stages, a spectacle of sport, mountains and passion. The novelty of presenting the race to Mig is a way of bringing us closer to the great days we will experience in May,” commented the mayor of Longarone, Roberto Padrin. “The stage that will start from Longarone, on the 60th anniversary of the Vajont tragedy, and will reach the Tre Cime di Lavaredo will really mark one of the pages of international cycling. In the meantime, let’s start enjoying the Giro with pink ice cream’.
“The Giro 2023 will be another great opportunity to show the world the beauty of our Belluno Dolomites,” adds the mayor of Val di Zoldo, Camillo De Pellegrin.
