Wet harvest, lucky harvest. The rain did not stop the solidarity and smiles at the Le Manzane winery in San Pietro di Feletto (TV), in the heart of the Prosecco Superiore lands, where yesterday 500 people braved the bad weather to participate in the great grape festival which has now reached its eighth edition. Among the guests of honor Sammy Basso, the former Italian basketball player Riccardo Pittis, the 2017 Tiramisù World Cup champion Andrea Ciccolella, the governor of Veneto Luca Zaia and the regional councilor Federico Caner.

“We have collected 4-5 quintals of glera – explains the owner Ernesto Balbinot – during the week we will however, with our boys, collect the necessary grapes and use them for the necessary purposes of the solidarity harvest. The proceeds from this year will be donated to the non-profit organization Revert for research on ALS, thanks to a project developed in collaboration with the social enterprise Edipo Re “.

After the harvest, the party continued under the tensile structure rented for the occasion with an aperitif based on Prosecco Superiore Docg accompanied by a delicious shot, the “Bocconcino di cod d’oro with zucchini” offered by Alberto and Marco Stocco di Ca ‘ del Poggio who hosted a convivial dinner, a good omen for the harvest on Saturday evening, in the elegant panoramic room of the restaurant. To liven up the party the Segnali Chaotico group with Alberto Ceschin and the juggler / acrobat Manuele Pascal. The day ended with lunch in “caneva” and the tiramisu competition. Andrea Ciccolella, 2017 champion of the Tiramisù World Cup, decreed the victory of the classic version over the innovative one (chocolate ganache, sponge cake instead of ladyfingers and amaretti), prepared by the Alpago di Conegliano pastry shop, after an ex aequo of the drawn jury among the participants in the solidarity harvest.
The governor of Veneto, Luca Zaia, praised the Balbinot family (Ernesto, his wife Silvana, their children Marco and Anna) as an example of “determination, sacrifice and desire to do”. “1 out of 5 people volunteer in Veneto and this is exactly the meaning we want to give to today’s event which has now become an annual event that we all follow so much it is true that it is full of people despite the rain”.

Communicating, networking is the best way to promote solidarity tourism, capable of giving value to this territory ».

“Beyond the various diseases of reference to which it is addressed – explained Daniele Furlan, coordinator of the Pomegranate Committee – research must always be financed for two reasons: the first because helping research is a duty not only towards ourselves, but also towards those who will come after us and then because by helping the research we contribute to the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis “.
