Presentation of the 42nd edition of Agrimont, the National Mountain Agriculture Exhibition

Five days of exhibitions, conferences and workshops on 18-19 and 24-25-26 March
Michele Dal Farra: “This is the trade fair specialising in the primary sector that makes the slope its key feature”.

The 42nd edition of Agrimont, the national exhibition of mountain agriculture staged at Longarone Fiere Dolomiti over the weekend of 18-19 and 24-25-26 March, was presented yesterday morning at the headquarters of the Province of Belluno. An edition that will bring 236 company brands to the exhibition spaces, 193 from 13 Italian regions and 43 from 16 foreign countries, about fifteen conferences and technical meetings, and numerous areas dedicated to demonstrations and workshops.

“Agrimont is much more than an exhibition of mountain agriculture, it is the specialised niche of a primary sector – that of slope agriculture – that has become almost heroic today, but which is fundamental in expressing a mix of product quality, care for the territory and tourism enhancement,” summarised the president of Longarone Fiere Dolomiti, Michele Dal Farra. “It is the history of Longarone Fiere, as it is now reaching its 42nd edition, but also the future of a proposal that knows how to keep up with the times, bringing together agricultural machinery and equipment for professionals, moments of in-depth analysis, but also proposals for hobbyists, which have increased significantly after the lockdown”.
Among the technical insights, an important space will be reserved for the Coldiretti-Cia-Confagricoltura conference on ‘Psr Montagna, tra prospettive e opportunità’ (Mountain Psr, between prospects and opportunities): a specific focus on the measures of the Rural Development Plan, scheduled on the opening day (Saturday 18 March). “A conference that aims to focus attention on a topic of vital importance for mountain agriculture in the future,” explained Alessandro De Rocco (provincial president Coldiretti) and Italo D’Incà (councillor Confagricoltura Belluno). “The Psr outlines the guidelines on which agriculture will hinge in the coming years and calls us to identify the development not only of our enterprises, but also of the entire mountain territory.
Technical insights will also come from Veneto Agricoltura, which is strengthening its presence and synergy with Longarone Fiere Dolomiti by bringing Casa Veneto to the exhibition. “Agriculture represents a fundamental component in the Veneto Region’s economy and as such must be valorised and protected,” said director Nicola Dell’Acqua. It is precisely for this reason that Veneto Agricoltura intends to propose significant moments, with the aim of providing ideas and tools for developing mountain agriculture,’ he said.

During the five days of Agrimont, which will see the total occupation of the exhibition areas, even with the relocation of the ticket office to reclaim space, special attention will also be paid to the forestry chain and dairy products, thanks to the synergy with the Istituto Agrario di Vellai (Feltre).
