The snowfall of the last few hours has given an even more wintry touch to the trails of the fourth edition of Misurina Winter Run, the high mountain running race proposed by Cadini Promotion, as part of the Tre Cime Experience events, which takes place on the trails around the Dolomite pearl surrounded by uniquely evocative peaks such as the Cadini and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
The appointment is for Sunday, March 5. The routes, which wind between altitudes of 1,750 and 2,300, already perfectly snow-covered, are ready to welcome runners who love running at altitude even in winter. Competitors will compete sun a course carved out of cross-country ski trails and groomed paths, measuring 17 kilometers and offering an 800-meter elevation gain. In addition to prizes for the first and first runners, each competitor will receive a technical gadget provided by Mico, one of the event’s partners: a pair of gloves designed especially for runners. Among the competitors will be Marco Piccin and Gabriele Del Longo, the winners of the last edition of the Misurina Sky Marathon and the Cadini Sky Race, the summer events organized by Cadini Promotion, as well as one of the home athletes, Nicola Pais Bianco. Among women, all eyes are on Alessandra Olivi.
One can register (upon presentation of a certificate of competitive fitness) on the morning of the race, in the start area, near the shed set up at the start of the “La Loita” ski lift.
Alongside the competitive race, Tre Cime Experience also offers the “Family Run,” a non-competitive event of 4 kilometers in length and 160 meters of positive elevation gain, with free registration for children under the age of 10. Again, you can register before the start and also in this there is a gadget for each participant: a band – head.
“We want to combine competitiveness and fun,” stresses Ivano Molin, president of Cadini Promotion. “That’s why we propose an event with two events, and for this Saturday night, starting at 6 p.m., in the shed we set up in the starting area there will be the official aperitif and lots of music to party together. Yes, we also want Misurina Winter Run to be a party, of sports, snow and mountains, involving young and old. The weather for the weekend looks good: we hope for a large participation.” The program for Sunday, March 5, includes at 7 a.m. the opening of the race office (shed near the start of the “La Loita” ski lift), at 9 a.m. the athletes’ meeting in the start area and briefing, at 9:30 a.m. the start of the Misurina Winter Run, which will be followed by that of the Family Run. The arrival of the first competitors of the Misurina Winter Run is expected around 11 a.m.
At 11:30 a.m. there will be the opening of the food and wine stand while the awards ceremony will take place from 2 p.m. Throughout the day there will be music with DJs.
