‘Le vite tra i Colli’, the Hills of Conegliano as you’ve never tasted them – 28 November

The Colli di Conegliano DOCG will have no more secrets: Monday 28 November will be a day dedicated to these wines that are born in the World Heritage area

THE WINES AMONG THE HILLS: An event to unveil the other face of the World Heritage area of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, that of the Colli di Conegliano, a DOCG denomination characterised by whites, reds and the passito wines Refrontolo Passito and Torchiato di Fregona, from indigenous grapes to be rediscovered. The Consorzio di Tutela del Colli di Conegliano DOCG will be presented on 28th November 2022 at the Isiss G. B. Cerletti, the Scuola Enologica di Conegliano, Italy’s first oenological school and the symbolic place of viticulture in the Hills, where it all began. It will be an intense day, totally immersed in this reality to be discovered, supported by the 28 members of the Consortium. The morning will host the round table “I Colli di Conegliano, from the present to the future” involving producers, institutions, journalists and even school students. The central themes will be the history of the Colli di Conegliano, its role in the Unesco project, and also plans for the future, which will focus firmly on Incrocio Manzoni Bianco. The afternoon will be enlivened by guided tastings, which will be conducted by representatives of the somellerie associations AIS, FISAR, ONAV and Slow Food. At the same time, it will be possible to access the tasting desk, where the wines of all members will be tasted, and to visit the Manzoni Museum. A day to be experienced and savoured, accompanied by the stories of wine growers and the wines of the Colli di Conegliano DOCG.
The event is realised with the support of Banca Prealpi, Amorim Cork Italia, the Municipality of Conegliano, Garbellotto S.p.A., and with the patronage of the Veneto Region, the Prosecco and Wines of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Hills Ass.
Colli di Conegliano DOCG since 2011, is protected by the Consortium established in 1998. The production is characterised by interesting and historic wines, most of which use rare indigenous varieties of great potential. Colli di Conegliano Rosso and Bianco, Passito di Refrontolo and Torchiato di Fregona: the flagship wines of the area. Here the producers dedicate themselves with great vocation to hillside viticulture, modelling the landscape like clay, but remaining faithful and anchored to that precious land that gives them so much.
