The seventeenth edition of the most anticipated festival kicks off on Friday 23 July, tickets are very limited and subscriptions already sold out.
A first weekend of international guests, music, dance, the most awarded films in the world and a screen accessible only by gondola.
Lago Film Fest starts again and does so with a first weekend dedicated to video dance, music and the most awarded films in the world. An overwhelming start for a festival that will continue its path next week with a large number of guests and meetings and a cultural offer open to all.
To open the festival, whose subscriptions are already sold-out, there will be Sun Dog by Dorian Jespers on 23 July, the most awarded short film of 2020, which arrives at Lago Film Fest in a highly anticipated Italian premiere after winning the International Film Rotterdam Festival.
Sun Dog is a debut that fascinates for the visionary nature of the young director and fascinates for the images almost suspended in a surreal and hypnotic Murmansk.
The absolute novelty of this edition of Lago Film Fest is the exclusive presence of The Golden Nights: more than 30 Film Academies around the world, each year award the best short film produced in their country. For many years the Académie des César has promoted these films not only in France, but internationally thanks to Le Notti d’Oro, showing the most beautiful short films awarded by its Film Academies with the Césars, Oscars, Bafta, Goya, the Magritte, the David di Donatello …
They proposed to Lago Film Fest to screen the shorts of Le Notti d’Oro: a very original compilation, offered as an ideal journey, the best of short films from all over the world.
The most awarded films in the world land at Lago Film Fest!
Throughout the weekend it will be possible to experience the most evocative viewing experience of the festival: the secret screen that can only be used through a gondola trip. PODOM by Olivia Funes Lastra is a site-specific installation conceived as a surprise, like a journey, like a discovery.
The work will be installed in the Lago di Lago and will be usable only by gondola, for a small but powerful path, which leads the spectators every evening to get lost in the silence of the water and the stars, in search of a multiple, multilingual, multiform story. that will open your eyes to this and many other landscapes.
The LOST award will be the protagonist on Saturday and Sunday, the only award in Italy dedicated to soundtrack and sound design, which will be present with two masterclasses dedicated to the world of sound held by the jurors Taketo Gohara – producer and sound designer to whom they are entrusted with Vinicio Capossela, Elisa and Brunori Sas – and Angelo Bonanni – sound engineer and winner of three David di Donatello. To these will be added, on Sunday evening, the announcement of the winner, chosen by Gohara and Bonanni themselves and by Roberto Angelini – singer-songwriter and producer as well as band leader of the television program Propaganda Live.
But the news of the festival is not over. Central to the first weekend will also be Moving Bodies: the new competition dedicated to videodance which will be awarded the winning film on Saturday 24th at 22:00.
For the first year Moving bodies, born as a focus dedicated to dance in video at Lago Film Fest, becomes an international competition. The selected films are small jewels, where dance and movement intersect with everyday life, with the hidden folds of our existence and impose themselves as an essential ingredient of our life. Cinema and dance come together and let themselves be seduced by each other in a single great work.
The festival thus opens the doors of this new edition but still holds many news, international guests, meetings and screenings to be discovered until Sunday 1 August, the day of the awards. However, we must hurry to win the ticket, this year the ticket office is entirely online and, a few days before the start of the screenings, the first sold out tickets are already announced.
