At just 35 years old, Helbock is considered an icon of the European jazz scene. After completing his training in the USA, he began to get noticed as the leader of his trio by playing in the most important international festivals, collecting growing acclaim from audiences and critics. He has numerous albums to his credit for the ACT label, including the one just released in piano solo, dedicated to John Williams, the great Oscar and Grammy-winning soundtrack composer who has signed some of the most iconic film music of recent decades . This album features John Williams’ music revisited for piano only through the prism of jazz.

«He has been with me for almost all of my life – Helbock tells of Williams – I still remember clearly when as a child I saw” ET “countless times and was fascinated by that creature being extra-terrestrial and its human friends. Or “Jurassic Park”. It was the first time I went to the cinema without my parents. And I will never forget the fascination and fear when I first saw the shark in “Jaws”. These have all been deeply emotional experiences for me and the soundtrack has always been a fundamental component ».
