Imoco Conegliano is Women’s Volleyball World Champion

Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano is World Champion!

A fantastic match by coach Santarelli’s panthers, who won 3-1 against the Turkish VakifBank Istanbul, defending champions of both the World Cup and the CEV Champions League. A match conducted with authority by the Venetians, in control for long stretches of the match and dragged by a Haak (undisputed MVP of the World Championship and best opposite player) in best player in the world format (34 points). Coach Guidetti’s team only managed to put the Italians in front in the second set, thanks above all to Egonu (27 points), but the Gialloblu’s response came in the decisive third set with the precious contributions of an extraordinary Monica De Gennaro (best libero in the competition) and the entire roster, from the flashes of Lubian and Plummer to the lethal shots of Cook (best setter) and De Kruijf, all perfectly handled by the tournament’s best setter, Joanna Wolosz. Coach Santarelli thus climbs to the roof of the world also with Conegliano after the summer triumph against Serbia, a success that replicates that of 2019 in China in the final against Eczacibasi.
