it is always as good and fresh as the first day.

Casatella Trevigiana on 2 June 2018 celebrates 10 years of recognition of the Protected Designation of Origin by the European Community. An important milestone, which rewards the work and efforts of those who firmly believed in the value, both for producers and for the territory, of an entirely Treviso DOP cheese.

The Consortium promoting the request to obtain the PDO was formally born on February 19, 2001 by 13 pioneers, including cooperative dairies, private dairies and A.Pro.La.V. who thus wanted to enhance the Treviso dairy tradition.

Because the Casatella Trevigiana is truly a heritage of our tradition. It was born in the houses of housewives, it was born from the milk of cows then almost “domestic”, it was born to feed the numerous families of the time, satisfying the children, the elderly and those who returned home after work in the fields.

A product that since then has been nutritionally rich and balanced, simple and tasty and which today, thanks to the enhancement of the chefs, is also a gourmet ingredient.

For the 10 years of DOP the Casatella Trevigiana meets Treviso. Saturday 2 June under the Loggia dei Trecento, an entire day dedicated to celebrations.

The program:

From 11:00 to 18:00 market exhibition and tastings.
From 11:00 to 15:00 tastings of pizza alla Casatella Trevigiana with PizzaChef Denis Lovatel.
At 11:30 the official inauguration with cutting of the cake and toast together with the Consorzio Tutela Prosecco DOC and, to follow, the awards ceremony of the photo contest on Facebook “Casatella Trevigiana DOP in … recipe” which saw the participation of 18 shops in ice cream parlors , bakeries, pastry shops, restaurants that compete with recipes on social networks to win more likes.
At 4:00 pm Maestro Casaro Roberto Dal Cin will make live the protagonist of the party, a very fresh Casatella Trevigiana ready to celebrate its first 10 years of DOP.
