Bassano and its renovated bridge

After the inauguration of the section of the Montebelluna Ovest – Bassano Pedemontana, a tour of the center of Bassano is a must.

A city to be discovered with its romantic corners, its views and its clubs, its churches and its squares, and the inevitable “Polenta and Baccalà” consumed in one of the restaurants along the course of the Brenta river which today flowed slowly and made even greener by a beautiful sunny day.

The famous Bassano Bridge, recently renovated, was crossed by couples and families who did not miss the opportunity to take a walk outdoors. The squares and bars with outdoor seating are once again filled with patrons, as are the numerous restaurants, cafes and taverns.

It is certainly worth climbing the more than 150 steps that lead to the top of the Civic Tower, also known as the “Torre grande delle ore”. We read about the tower for the first time in 1349 when a municipal bell was placed there. It is believed that it may have been built in 1312 or 1313 to secure the town. From its 43 meters high you can admire a unique landscape at 360 degrees.
